Surf pop serial killer Charles Manson recently unveiled plans to make his latest record – One Mind – available for free under a creative commons license.
The particularly surprising twist to this story was that parole dodger Charles Manson actually has a new record.
One Mind – available here – is an odd collection of rambling acoustic hippie folk – part Brian Jonestown Massacre, part bootleg busker. However, within the madness and the mediocrity, there are moments of brilliant melody, in the Dando-esque Angels Fear To Tread, and of rambling post rock emotion with the almost Adam Gnade-ish Black Pirate.
