1st Quarter 2008 Best Music Bits part 2/5

BON IVER

Bon Iver

If you can haul yourself over the slightly beardy Ray Lamontagne/Damien Rice air of it, herein lies one of those rare albums of phantasmal folk. For Emma, Forever Ago is already certain to be re-applauded by end of year list creators. Also expect this new Bonnie Prince Billie-esque signing to 4AD in the UK to become one of those treasured festival acts this summer, much like Beirut was last year. Expect him/them to end up thrilling all those Jeff Buckley movie soundtrack lovers via the closing scenes to a traumatic ER and appeasing Nickleback/Staind fans via a cheese/iPod/fake tan advert this autumn.
